In all things

Exploring life, faith, and connections to the world beyond religion

About The Blog

At the dawn of the Christian church, the Apostle Paul wrote, "The Son is before all things, and in him all things hold together" (Colossians 1:17). In these pages, we will explore a variety of topics, but in all things will reflect on how it is Jesus Christ who is at the center of all creation and holds all things together by his power.

Prayer for Christ's Joy

Triune God, we praise you that you have built into your world things that bring us joy. Help us to open our hearts to the big and small ways these show up all around us.

Thank you, Jesus, that by your finished work on the cross, you have made available the love and delight of the Father. Teach us, Holy Spirit, to rest our hearts in that delight — shine light on the dark places and bring what is dead back to life. Let us drink of the filling joy of our True Source, Jesus Christ.

As we face the hardships of this day, we commit our burdens to you. God, you know what we need before we even ask. Lead our hearts to the confident trust that you have everything in your hands and are working all things together for our good and your glory.

May your delight in us fill our hearts with Christ's joy this day.

We pray this in the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Amen.
